Here are a few personal favorites:

Winter:

Cross Country Skiing. Skis can be rented in town. They can also tell you where to go cross country skiing but the Sleeping Lady Resort and the Golf Course are close and offer lovely trails. Ski Hill has night skiing available.

Tubing- Ski Hill at the North end of the valley has great inner tubing with a rope tow. Ski Hill is also a great place to let kids(or adults) get their ski legs warmed up.

Skiing- Both Stevens Pass and Mission Ridge are only 45-60 minutes away. You can catch a shuttle up to Stevens Pass for $12 dollars round trip for day or night skiing.

Cozy up to the fire for a drink at the Grotto at the Sleeping Lady. The atmosphere is perfect for a cold winter’s day.

Sleigh Rides- There are several local outfitters that you can choose from for a lovely sleigh ride through the snow.

Bundle up and head to the Sausage Haus for a great Brat of your choice.  An outside eatery you stay warm by gathering around the fire or huddled under the outdoor heaters. Often they have live music.

Sledding- the sleds are in the garage and a run down the driveway of Red Roof Lodge is an easy and fun trip. Make sure to go for a run after dinner by the glow of the Christmas lights on the Lodge.

Spring:

Wildflowers- Walk the trails at the Ski Hill in the North end of the valley for a spectacular display of wildflowers. And they are pretty stunning on our hill as well.

Bird Watching- Leavenworth is on one of four main Bird Migratory Routes in the Western Hemisphere and in spring there are tons of birds to discover. They especially like to bath in the river leading into the pool in the morning.

Fishing- There are abundant lakes, streams and rivers for fishing. Check in at Der Sports Haus in downtown Leavenworth to see what is open and biting(fishing is also good in summer and fall).

Hiking- With the cooler temperatures and wildflowers Spring is a great time to check the multitude of trails in the area.  The Chamber in town as well as the Forest Service have lots of maps and suggestions.

Golf- The golf course in right down in the valley, you can see it from the deck. And it is a lovely, no pressure and inexpensive course. If you didn’t bring your clubs you can rent.

Summer:

Inner tube the Icicle Creek or Wenatchee River- There are several outfitters that will provide  you with  an oversized tube, hand paddles and a life jacket (coolers also available for rent) and you can spend a lazy hour floating the beautiful Iclcle Creek.

Wineries- There is over 15 wineries and tasting rooms in the area. The wineries not only offer tasting and tours but live music, hikes and gourmets meals and plenty of other fun events. Check out their websites.

Swimming- if you can actually leave the Red Roof Lodge pool there is a fabulous swimming hole at Barnes Beach  in downtown Leavenworth.

Theater- There is two outdoor summer theaters and one indoor theater. The Sound of Music is set in the mountains overlooking Ski Hill and creates a wonderful back drop for this family favorite. At the other end of the Valley at the Fish Hatchery a different musical is offered each year. There is also be an indoor production at the Feast Hall in Downtown Leavenworth.
